Modified Atmospheres is pleased to welcome participants from the University of Sydney to a workshop on Common Pests of Libraries and Archives.

Program outline

  • Pests and damage: A look at common pests of libraries & archives and the damage caused
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Steps that can be taken to reduce the risks of pests in collections
  • Non-toxic fumigation: Freezing and low oxygen treatments of infested material, new acquisitions, etc.

Participants will also have a hands-on demonstration of methods of non-toxic fumigation.
